About the Event
Surfing, shopping, communicating and working around the clock, whenever and wherever it suits you - until yesterday this seemed to be pure freedom. Today, with the Covid-19 virus posing a global threat to everyone and public life practically at a standstill, the perceived infinity suddenly seems to be marked with a big question mark. For many people, however, digital media are only now becoming a real blessing due to new kinds of stress such as isolation, curfews and quarantine. And yet, being accessible and available at any time of day or night was and still is a great burden as well, resulting in physical and mental disorders and serious difficulties in interpersonal relationships and at work. This will continue to be relevant after the Corona crisis, among other economic and social consequences. We must also ask ourselves: how much time and opportunities do we really have in "normal times" for authentic encounters, times of rest, to live a Jewish life, to practice zedaka and to show solidarity with the less privileged in our country and elsewhere? A productive exchange about necessary changes in the way we deal with the world, ourselves and last but not least with emails, smartphone and so on, are essential goals of the seminar.
