Die Kontrolle der sozialen Medien

Internet platforms enable a variety of communication and make the corona crisis bearable for many, but they also control and limit what we say. And who controls them? Matthias C. Kettemann, Head of Research Program at the Leibniz Institute for Media Research | Hans-Bredow-Institut (HBI), investigates the question in his lecture and proposes a solution how the inherent risks for individual legal protection and social cohesion, depending on the size and effect of the platforms, can be minimized while preserving freedom. Because: Who sets up the rules according to which presidential accounts are deleted, hate speech and disinformation are combated. Who sets the limits of what can be said on the Internet: Is it politics and the state? Is it the corporate headquarters in the USA? Isn't it the users? We look forward to the discussion with you!
