At the warm polar. I don't want to be a polar bear. What was once about climate change and who saves the whales on the Internet?
Activists and scientists call for the active rescue of our planet. Because the polar caps are melting, forests are disappearing and island peoples have to migrate. However, a turnaround seems to have taken place in many people's minds: Nature conservation and the reduction of CO2 emissions have long since ceased to be a blank sheet of paper and, far away from recycled paper, exciting digital ideas are being developed. But who or what save environment apps, geo-wikis, online games and other digital initiatives? And how do forward thinkers use the Internet to develop climate-saving ideas? Is the Internet just another medium for climate protection or is it really the last chance for polar bears and whales?
Katja Weber from DRadio Wissen discussed these questions with:
The introduction was given by Jonas Kaiser, associated researcher at the Alexander von Humboldt Institute for Internet and Society. Rotating audience guests were able to join in the discussion on the podium by taking the empty chair.

Every last Wednesday of the month our guests discuss 'questions concerning the networked present'. In our talk series, we shed light on network phenomena, discuss the advantages and disadvantages of technical changes and provide food for thought. Share your opinion before, during and after the show directly on our website, via social media or by postcard. The Digitaler Salon is a cooperation between DRadio Wissen and the Alexander von Humboldt Institute for Internet and Society, and is produced by Kooperative Berlin.
