Faster, harder, E-Scooter

At the Alexander von Humboldt-Institute for Internet and Society (HIIG), the Digitale Salon will be discussing e-scooters, which are omnipresent in many cities.

E-scooters have become an integral part of our cities, alongside rental bikes and car sharing. They ride on bike paths and sidewalks and cause anger, euphoria and scepticism at the same time. However, what does this new type of mobility mean for our cities? Why do we hand over public space to private companies and what actually happens to our movement data?  Who actually uses these e-scooters and for which user groups are these mobility offers based on digital technologies being developed? How do we create offers that are accessible for all citizens? And what does the mobility of the future look like in our digital cities?

The moderator Katja Weber (radioeins, Deutschlandfunk Nova) will discuss the future of mobility in our cities with exciting guests.

The Digitale Salon opens its doors at 6:30 p.m. From 7:00 p.m., the event will be broadcasted live on hiig.de. Then it is time to participate - on site and via Twitter via #DigSal. The Digitale Salon takes place every last Wednesday of the month with a different question. Recordings of past Digitale Salons and more information can be found here.

No registration is required for the Digital Salon.
