Influencer und politische Meinungsbildung

Leonie Wunderlich will speak about the influence of influencers on the news consumption of young students at the Bildungssalon [educational event] of the Federal Agency for Civic Education (bpb) beginning at 5 pm. In doing so, she will share findings from the study "Social Media Creators from the Perspective of Their Young Followers," which was conducted as part of the #UseTheNews project. Afterwards, she will engage in a direct exchange with participants to compare her research findings with the everyday practice of teachers.

In the further course of the event, Kathrin Rothemund, media literacy expert at Media Authority for Berlin-Brandenburg (mabb), will present the educational tool "Der Newstest" (The Newstest), which was developed in cooperation with bpb and allows users to test their knowledge in dealing with news on the Internet. Using the Newstest, she will give tips for use in classrooms, such as how students can use it to learn how to judge the quality of news and better recognize false reports.
