Conference of the DFG Research Training Group 1681/2 "Privacy and Digitisation" with contributions by Dr. Stephan Dreyer and Florian Wittner. Participation is free of charge, please register here until 06 May 2019.
Current debates such as the EU-GDPR or the social responsibility of large Internet companies such as Facebook show that questions about the legal, political, ethical, social or even economic responsibility for the consequences of the digital upheavals to which societies, collectives and individuals are exposed have not yet been clarified. The conference is devoted to the question of the need for legal, educational, economic or other control of the increasing, often irreversible influence of technical and digital developments on people and society.
Dr. Stephan Dreyer will open the conference with the lecture "Algorithmisiertes Identitäts-, Beziehungs- und Informationsmanagement – Aufmerksamkeitssteuerung durch Social Media-Plattformen als Eingriff in die Privatautonomie? [Algorithmized Identity, Relationship and Information Management - Attention Control through Social Media Platforms as an Intervention in Private Autonomy?]. Florian Wittner will give a lecture on "Die Übertragbarkeit des EuGH-Urteils „Wirtschaftsakademie“ auf komplexe Mehr-Akteur-Konstellationen in digitalen Serviceangeboten [The Transferability of the ECJ judgement "Wirtschaftsakademie" to Complex Multi-Actor Constellations in Digital Service Offerings]".
