COST-Action “The Digital Literacy and Multimodal Practices of Young Children” (DigiLitEY)

COST-Action “The Digital Literacy and Multimodal Practices of Young Children” (DigiLitEY)

What requirements do multimodal and interactive media impose on the digital literacy of children of up to eight years old? How can they be supported regarding the use and interpretation of these services?

The international COST Action investigated these questions from different perspectives, with Claudia Lampert representing the Hans-Bredow-Institut at COST Action. Contexts such as (parental) home, kindergarten and school will be taken into account as well as media spedific requirements concerning reading and writing along with online specific user practices of children. Moreover, methodological and ethical questions were reflected on in conjuction with the analysis of Digital Literacy in the COST Action.

In a first step, international studies were reviewed, which formed the basis for research foci and desiderata.
