Abstract
With some delay, more and more states are fulfilling their duty to protect the fundamental rights of all, including in private communication spaces. Germany has moved forward with the NetzDG. Now Austria is following suit with a draft law on communication platforms. Although some mistakes of the NetzDG were avoided, this contribution shows that the KoPl-G still has some problematic areas despite creative legal protection channels and an interesting technical supervision.
