Since July 2019, Paul Solbach has been a doctoral candidate at the Leibniz Institute for Media Research HBI, and has been working on the DFG project "Pioneer Journalism: The Re-Figuration of Journalism's Organizational Foundations
." His work focuses on the research of start-ups, incubators, accelerators and individual actors in the field of journalistic digital offers. For his dissertation, Paul Solbach deals with the economic implications of message recommendation systems.
Paul Solbach studied history and computer science at Humboldt-Universität and Freie Universität Berlin. He worked as engineering lead for the Newslab of the German Press Agency and received start-up funding from the Next Media Accelerator.
On behalf of well-known publishing clients, he is also managing director of a start-up in the field of audience relationship: Furthermore, he advises young founders, among others, on the Media Lift incubator.
