{"id":2524,"date":"2024-07-01T15:45:56","date_gmt":"2024-07-01T13:45:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newws.leibniz-hbi.de\/?post_type=hbi-employee&#038;p=2524"},"modified":"2025-11-12T09:29:25","modified_gmt":"2025-11-12T08:29:25","slug":"hans-ulrich-wagner","status":"publish","type":"hbi-employee","link":"https:\/\/leibniz-hbi.de\/en\/employee\/hans-ulrich-wagner\/","title":{"rendered":"Hans-Ulrich Wagner"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hans-Ulrich Wagner has been working at the <a href=\"https:\/\/hans-bredow-institut.de\/en\/research\/research-programmes\/knowledge-for-the-media-society\/media-history\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-cke-saved-href=\"\/en\/research\/research-programmes\/knowledge-for-the-media-society\/media-history\">Research Centre Media History<\/a> (previously: Research Center History of Broadcasting in Northern Germany) since December 2000 and has been its head since August 2005. His research interests include all areas of mediated public communication history. He focuses on historical research into media effects and the media-mediated culture of remembrance, the relationship between broadcasting and literature, sound studies and overarching issues relating to the history of media, programs and mentalities in the 20th century.<\/p>\n<p>At <span lang=\"de\">Universit\u00e4t Hamburg<\/span> he is responsible for teaching and examining in the subject area &#8220;Language, Literature, Media I&#8221;. Since 1996 he has been a member of the jury for the &#8220;<span lang=\"de\">H\u00f6rspielpreis der Kriegsblinden <span class=\"ui-provider a b c d e f g h i j k l m n o p q r s t u v w x y z ab ac ae af ag ah ai aj ak\" dir=\"ltr\">\u2013<\/span> Preis f\u00fcr Radiokunst<\/span>&#8221; [Blind War Veterans\u2019 Prize for Radio Plays. Prize for Radio Arts]. He is a member of the board of the &#8220;<span lang=\"de\">Studienkreis Rundfunk und Geschichte<\/span>&#8221; [Broadcasting and History] , serving as its first chairman from 2007 to 2011.<\/p>\n<p>Hans-Ulrich Wagner studied German and theology at the universities of Bamberg and M\u00fcnster and worked as a freelance literary critic and journalist. He received his doctorate in Bamberg in 1996 with a thesis on the radio play program of the immediate post-war period 1945-1949.
