She researches the transformation of journalism within a changing media environment, journalism theories and methods of communication and journalism research.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, Wiebke Loosen is investigating data journalism, the changing journalism-audience relationship, forms of pioneer journalism and the developing start-up culture in journalism as well as journalism-like services of algorithms. She is also working in interdisciplinary projects situated where the fields of journalism research and computer science converge. Wiebke Loosen is a member of various national and international cooperation networks, including the research network &#8220;Communicative Figurations&#8221; \u2013 a joint initiative of the Universities of Bremen and Hamburg and the Leibniz Institute for Media Research | <span lang=\"de\">Hans-Bredow-Institut<\/span> (HBI) as well as the international network &#8220;Journalism Elsewhere&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>She studied communication science, psychology, and German studies at the University of M\u00fcnster, where she also completed her doctorate. Her habilitation at <span lang=\"de\">Universit\u00e4t Hamburg<\/span> was dedicated to the topic of &#8220;Transformations of Journalism and Journalism Research&#8221;.
