Paulina Domdey was a junior researcher at the Leibniz Institute for Media Research | Hans Bredow Institute (HBI) in the competence area Growing Up in Digital Media Environments from November 2021 to the end of 2023. She worked on the DFG project\u00a0“Connected Kids”<\/a>, investigating the socialization of children in a changing media environment, with a particular interest in processes of gender socialization in everyday media life. The project was funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG).<\/p>\n

Paulina Domdey studied cultural studies with a focus on media culture and communication (minor in business psychology) at Leuphana University in L\u00fcneburg and communication studies and media research (minor in gender studies) at the University of Zurich. In her master’s thesis, she theorised processes of gender and media socialisation and examined how young women acquire media representations of femininity against the backdrop of the risks of stereotyping, sexualising and objectifying media images.<\/p>\n

From 2018 to 2021, she worked as a research assistant on various research projects in the field of media psychology at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW), which focused on topics such as children’s and young people’s media use and health communication.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":15,"featured_media":1295,"template":"","categories":[],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-2827","hbi-employee","type-hbi-employee","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"\nPaulina Domdey -
