Since 2024, Yulia Yurtaeva-Martens has been a research associate at the Institute for Media and Communication Studies at the Freie Universit\u00e4t Berlin, working on the DFG-funded project “From Dallas to Berlin on Demand: The Transnationalization of Meaning? A Multilevel Replication Study in Israel and Germany<\/a>.”<\/p>\n

She has also taught at Philipps University Marburg.<\/p>\n

After studying history, film, and media studies in Berlin and Potsdam, Yulia Yurtaeva-Martens worked as a research assistant at the Film University Babelsberg Konrad Wolf in Potsdam in the media studies program, focusing on both research and teaching. As a research officer in the field of research and innovation, she coordinated the Graduate Academy at the Film University from 2022 to 2023.<\/p>\n

From 2023 to 2024, Yulia was employed as a postdoctoral researcher in the third-party funded project “For Real? Virtual Encounters with Holocaust Survivors<\/a>” at the Film University. She now supports the project as an associate researcher<\/p>\n

Dr. Yulia Yurtaeva-Martens received her PhD at the Film University Babelsberg Konrad Wolf on transnational television programme exchanges in Eastern Europe during the Cold War in the period of 1960-1993.<\/p>\n

Her research interests include European television and media history, particularly the history of media organizations and events from a transnational perspective, research on women in media history and popular television entertainment.<\/p>\n
