Smita Bhattacharya joined the Leibniz Institute for Media Research \u2502 Hans-Bredow-Institut (HBI) in June 2025 as a junior researcher in the project \u201cCommunicative AI and Deliberative Quality<\/a>\u201d led by Dr. Gregor Wiedemann.<\/p>\n

Smita Bhattacharya holds a bachelor’s degree in information technology and worked as a data analyst for three years. After that, she studied data science and artificial intelligence at the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science at Saarland University<\/a>.<\/p>\n

She completed her master’s thesis on \u201cIdentifying skills in Constructed Responses with Explainable NLP models\u201d under the supervision of \u00a0Prof. Dr. Hendrik Drachsler<\/a> and Prof. Dr. Vera Demberg<\/a>.<\/p>\n
