How much room for manoeuvre do we have, and how can we think about the future in such a way that it is not just a threat or an ideal, but something that we can consciously influence?<\/p>\n<p>The discussion will feature:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Monika Ilves, <a href=\"https:\/\/d-64.org\/english\/\">D64 \u2013 Center for Digital Progress e. V<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Prof. Dr. Ali Aslan G\u00fcm\u00fcsay, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hiig.de\/en\/ali-aslan-guemuesay-dr\/\">HIIG<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Nele Bu\u00df, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hiig.de\/en\/nele-buss\/\">HIIG<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Moderation: <a href=\"https:\/\/leibniz-hbi.de\/en\/employee\/katharina-mosene\/\">Katharina Mosene<\/a><\/p>\n<h2>About the Event<\/h2>\n<p>In the days following the election, many questions remain unanswered: What political decisions will shape our daily lives? But uncertainty is not limited to politics &#8211; there are also question marks over the economy, the climate crisis and the education system. Our future does not begin and end with a legislative period &#8211; it is shaped every day by social developments, technological innovations and economic dynamics. Uncertainty is not only an obstacle, but also an opportunity: it opens up space for new ideas, experimentation and change. But how do we think about the future? Do gloomy predictions of crisis, upheaval and loss of control help us prepare? Or do optimistic visions of the future lead us into a naive illusion? Between doomsday fears and promises of salvation from Silicon Valley &#8211; from escape to other planets to virtual parallel worlds &#8211; many debates about the future oscillate between extremes. But how do you discuss something that does not yet exist without getting lost in speculative fantasies? Digitization has long been a key factor influencing our future. It is changing not only the way we work, but also the way we communicate, share knowledge, and shape mobility and energy supply.
