In a public lecture as part of Hamburg’s Week of Science Communication<\/a>, Prof. Dr. Judith M\u00f6ller<\/a> will discuss the extent to which algorithms and fake news in social media influence political voting behavior.<\/p>\n

In her lecture “Haben Algorithmen und Fake News die Wahl entschieden<\/span>?” [Did Algorithms and Fake News Decide the Election?], Judith M\u00f6ller will first explain how algorithms in social media work and why the influence of individual fake news on voting behaviour is rather small. More important is the long-term effect: social media shape what is considered relevant and what is considered normal.
