Dr. Jan-Hinrik Schmidt<\/a> will give the opening presentation for the event series “Internet Shapes Politics”<\/a>. He will discuss how digital media is changing our public debates and social cohesion.<\/p>\n

What do digital media do to us humans \u2013 and what do we do to digital media? Does the diversity of available information and the opportunity for democratic exchange increase? Or do we rather end up with \u201cfilter bubbles\u201d and disinformation campaigns that divide society? The presentation will outline how opinions are formed in digital spaces, how social cohesion is changing, and where we are called upon as individuals and as a society. The presentation will be followed by a moderated discussion.<\/p>\n

On Saturday, March 1, 2025, \u201cNETZ MACHT POLITIK<\/span>\u201d [Internet Shapes Politics] will offer workshops and interactive formats in which practical knowledge about the challenges of the digital media world will be conveyed. The whole event series will be held in German.
