European digital regulation is guided by three principles: enabling innovation, keeping markets open, and ensuring fundamental rights, security, and trust. Data, platforms, AI, and cybersecurity are not regulated in isolation but rather as the interconnected infrastructure of a digital society. Europe&#8217;s approach is neither anti-technology nor deregulatory; rather, it is a model of regulated digitality characterized by responsibility, resilience, and the rule of law. This does not suit the U.S. at present; the U.S. has launched a frontal attack on Europe&#8217;s digital rules.
