re:publica25, one of Germany’s most important digital conferences, took place at STATION Berlin under the motto \u201cGeneration XYZ.\u201d Jan Rau<\/a>, Prof. Dr. Wiebke Loosen<\/a>, Anna von Garmissen<\/a>, Prof. Dr. Matthias Kettemann<\/a>, and Katharina Mosene<\/a> were at the venue to present their research. Promoting Democratic Discourse on Digital Platforms<\/h2>\n

In his presentation “Jenseits der Wut-Maschine<\/span>” [Beyond the Anger Machine], Jan Rau discussed how digital platforms can promote democratic discourse. The presentation highlighted the opportunities created by the Digital Services Act to make the digital public sphere more democratic.<\/p>\n

Media Professionals on the Edge of Journalism<\/h2>\n

Wiebke Loosen and Anna von Garmissen presented their findings from the largest survey of peripheral media professionals in German-speaking countries to date in their presentation “Influencer*innen, Content Creators, Gr\u00fcnder*innen: Ist das (noch) Journalismus<\/span>?” [Influencers, Content Creators, Founders: Is This (Still) Journalism?].<\/p>\n

Matthias Kettemann gave a talk in the atrium on ethical guidelines for quantum technology and possible lessons from internet and AI regulation. Katharina Mosene, together with Sarah Spitz (HIIG), invited participants to play an interactive game on ethical dilemmas in human-machine interaction.<\/p>\n

Bartje Kr\u00fcger (University of Leipzig), Alex Krause, and Andrea Grahl (both ZeMKI \/ University of Bremen) presented the \u201cmolo<\/a>\u201d platform in a workshop. The platform offers everyone the opportunity to bundle information and events from their city (society) in one place using AI. \u201cmolo\u201d is a cooperation project in which the HBI is involved as a project partner<\/a>. More on this in an article by MDR<\/a>.<\/p>\n
