Dr. Tobias Mast<\/a>, head of the research program \u201cRegulatory Structures and the Emergence of Rules in Online Spaces\u201d<\/a> at the HBI, has been re-elected to the advisory board of the Coordination Office for Digital Services.<\/p>\n

As a representative of academia, Tobias Mast will continue advising the Coordination Office on matters concerning the application and enforcement of the Digital Services Act (DSA). He has been a member of the advisory board since its establishment in September 2024.<\/p>\n

Tobias Mast represents the scientific community on the advisory board alongside Prof. Dipl.-Journ. Christina Elmer from TU Dortmund University; Prof. Dr. Henrike Weiden from Munich University of Applied Sciences; and Prof. Dr. Franz Hofmann from Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg.<\/p>\n

The Coordination Office for Digital Services is located at the Federal Network Agency in Bonn. It serves as a central point of contact for users and providers of digital and online services, as well as for authorities in Germany and the EU. The task of the Coordination Office is to monitor the rules of the DSA in Germany and ensure compliance.<\/p>\n

The Advisory Board members were elected by the German Bundestag on October 16, 2025, based on the recommendations of the coalition factions.<\/p>\n

The Advisory Board as a Panel of Experts<\/h2>\n

The Advisory Board is an independent panel of experts that supports the Coordination Office in performing its tasks and serves as a link between academia and practice. It is composed of representatives from academia, civil society (including consumer associations), and trade associations.<\/p>\n

The Advisory Board advises the Coordination Office on fundamental issues relating to the application and enforcement of the DSA.
