As part of a pilot project, the German Association for Voluntary Self-Regulation of Television (FSF) and the German Association for Voluntary Self-Regulation of Digital Media Service Providers (FSM) are developing quality standards for automated and AI-supported evaluation systems, overseen by the Commission for the Protection of Minors in the Media (KJM). Dr. Stephan Dreyer<\/a>, a member of the expert commission ‘Pilot Testing and Criteria Development’, is developing and conducting tests on automated and AI-supported evaluation systems for youth media protection.<\/p>\n

The pilot project offers the opportunity to establish binding standards for the use of automated systems and testing procedures in the assessment of media content under youth protection law, providing legal certainty for companies that use such systems.<\/p>\n

About the Expert Commission \u201cPilot Testing and Criteria Development\u201d<\/h2>\n

The criteria for testing and certifying automated systems are being developed by a group of experts from the fields of AI technology, AI law, AI governance in companies, and FSF testing practice. In addition to Dr. Stephan Dreyer, Prof. Dr. Oksana Arnold (Erfurt University of Applied Sciences) and Prof. Dr. Judith Simon (Universit\u00e4t Hamburg) are members of the commission.<\/p>\n

The pilot project focuses on an AI application that has already been submitted and is currently being used to identify and classify audiovisual content from a youth protection perspective. The system will be tested for suitability and eligibility for the evaluation of audiovisual content, and its integration into internal corporate governance and testing processes will be examined.<\/p>\n
