Federal Minister of Justice Stefanie Hubig is pushing for the swift introduction of legislation against digital violence. However, that alone is not enough. On the program @mediasres, Sebastian Wellendorf speaks with Katharina Mosene<\/a> about digital violence against women online, addressing it as a structural problem. They also discuss the proposed legislation and social responsibility.<\/p>\n

In the programme, Katharina Mosene highlights the need for the federal government to \u201caddress this issue. Not only has it long been included in coalition agreements, but there is also a directive at the European level. This directive against violence and domestic violence obligates all nation-states to establish various criminal offenses by 2027, which will enable the prosecution of digital violence against women. This directive explicitly mentions AI-generated nude and sexualized image-based content.\u201d<\/p>\n

She also emphasizes society\u2019s responsibility to \u201ccontinue addressing this issue and allocate resources to strengthen existing support structures, such as women\u2019s shelters, so that those affected know what to do if they experience digital violence.\u201d<\/p>\n
