By combining fundamental and applied research across media, disciplines, and methods, the Institute generates evidence-based knowledge for academia, policymakers, industry, and civil society. The Institute is distinguished by its close integration of social scientific communication research, legal research on media regulation, and, increasingly, computational methods.<\/p>\n<h2>The Research Group<\/h2>\n<p>The advertised position is based in the &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/leibniz-hbi.de\/en\/research\/research-programs\/research-program-3\/growing-up\/\">Growing Up in Digital Media Environments<\/a>&#8221; research group within Program Area 1. The research group is part of national and international research consortia and projects and has addressed issues related to media socialization, media education, and the evaluation and further development of the youth media protection system for many years. Planned research projects will address the connections between children\u2019s use of AI-supported systems and its impact on health and well-being. They will also address the issue of designing regulatory frameworks and online services that are sensitive to children\u2019s rights.
