Junior Researcher Media Use

Julia Behre is junior researcher at the Leibniz Institute for Media Research | Hans-Bredow-Institut (HBI). Her research interests include media use in digital media environments and the journalism-audience relationship.

She works in Research Program 1 “Transformation of Public Communication – Journalistic and Intermediary Functions in the Process of Opinion Formation”. In the DFG project “Public Connection“, she was dedicated to the question of how people connect to different publics through individual repertoires. In addition, she analyses current developments in news usage in Germany since 2019 as part of the Reuters Institute Digital News Report.

Julia Behre studied media and communication studies, psychology as well as journalism and communication studies at Universität Hamburg. In her Master’s thesis, she dealt with trust in news from different sources and the associated individual influencing factors.
