Norms of the Net

The framework project, which is financed from basic funds, bundles research activities of the research programme management in the area of the structural perspective investigation of rule formation in digital communication spaces.

Especially the interplay between everyday rule orientations and public and private law as well as technological guidelines for action will be examined. The existence and normativity of new orders and causal relations are located between the forces of normativity of the factual (technical affordances) and the factuality of the normative (and techno-social assemblages). Particular attention is paid to Internet governance and its actors on the one hand and private norm-setters, i.e. intermediaries, on the other.
