A Portrait of Harry Hermann Spitz

Who was Harry Hermann Spitz? The short answer: From 1947 to 1957, he was the head of music at the Northwest German Broadcasting Company (NWDR) and the North German Broadcasting Company (NDR). You can read the longer answer in German here. Media historian Dr. Hans-Ulrich Wagner wrote an article for the Neue Deutsche Biographie in which he examined the artist’s life—a life devoted to music that was shattered by anti-Semitism and the persecution of Jews.

The article about Harry Hermann Spitz is only available in German.
