Opinion Formation among Young People in the Digital Media Environment

  • Date: 07.02.26
  • Location: Frankfurt on the Main
  • Time: 09:30 h

Dr. Leonie Alatassi will give the opening presentation at the Ideas Fair for Education Professionals: “Power. Media! Teach Me Media Literacy.” She will discuss the current challenges and approaches to shaping the opinions of young people in the digital media environment.

The presentation “Meinungsbildung junger Menschen im digitalen Medienumfeld” [Opinion Formation among Young People in the Digital Media Environment] as well as the event “Macht. Medien! Teach me Medienkompetenz“[Power. Media! Teach Me Media Literacy] will be held in German.

About the Event

Chatbots, TikTok, WhatsApp—wherever young people are, media use and the promotion of critical thinking and safe use are automatically involved. But how do you teach these skills? Working with young people does not automatically make you a media expert. Even if you keep up to date, it can be helpful to know about useful resources and contacts. At the fair, education professionals can get an overview of projects, methods, and materials that strengthen media literacy and establish contacts with regional and national points of contact.
