The Euromedia Ownership Monitor (EurOM0) provides policymakers and the general public with in-depth insights into the transparency of media ownership in the EU. This fulfills the main objective of monitoring media ownership.
In 2025, EurOM0 updated its existing databases and risk assessments and expanded its media channel database to include channels and accounts on large online platforms relevant to news consumption in each EU member state. At the end of the project, the following results were presented on a website:
- An updated and expanded database of opinion-forming media in each EU member state;
- An updated database of national laws on media ownership transparency;
- Narrative country reports;
- Updated interactive graphics showing national media ownership structures and cross-border media activities;
- An updated assessment of the risks to transparency of ownership and control structures will be provided for each country, taking into account its ownership structure, management arrangements, economic conditions, relationships with politicians and interest groups, distribution channels, and regulatory framework.
