Siegfried Lenz’s radio programs on East Prussia and Masuria

  • Date: 27.04.26
  • Location: Hamburg
  • Time: 19:00 h

Not only did Siegfried Lenz create literary monuments to his homeland, he also devoted himself to the themes of loss of home and displacement in numerous radio plays, series, and features.

Dr. Hans-Ulrich Wagner examines Lenz’s early broadcasts on displaced persons and East Prussia within the context of his biographical and literary development. In doing so, he emphasizes the importance of media work for writers in the Federal Republic of Germany.

The event “Wanderjahre ohne Lehre: Siegfried Lenz‘ Rundfunksendungen über Ostpreußen und Masuren” [Years of Wandering Without an Apprenticeship: Siegfried Lenz’s Radio Programs on East Prussia and Masuria] will be held in German.
