Julia Behre has been a junior researcher at the Leibniz Institute for Media Research | Hans-Bredow-Institut (HBI) in Research Programme 1 "Transformation of Public Communication - Journalistic and Intermediary Functions in the Process of Opinion Formation"
since March 2022.
Her research interests include media use in digital media environments and the journalism-audience relationship. In the DFG project "Public Connection
", she is dedicated to the question of how people connect to different publics through individual repertoires. In addition, she has been analysing current developments in news usage in Germany since 2019 as part of the Reuters Institute Digital News Report
Julia Behre studied media and communication studies, psychology as well as journalism and communication studies at the University of Hamburg. In her Master's thesis, she dealt with trust in news from different sources and the associated individual influencing factors.
At the HBI, she had already been working as a student assistant in various projects of research programme 1 since 2018.
