Verena Albert has been a Junior Researcher at the Leibniz Institute for Media Research | Hans Bredow Institute since August 2020. Her research focuses on the evolving relationship between journalism and its audience, as well as journalistic roles.
She is currently working on the project “Prototypes of Cohesion“ at the Research Institute Social Cohesion (FGZ), investigating the potential of innovative community models and visions of the future in digital media for social cohesion. Previously, she worked on the project “What Journalists Want and What They Ought to Do – The Transformation of the Journalism/Audience-Relationship and ist Relevance for Social Cohesion“. In her dissertation, she focuses on constructive journalism as well as the role expectations of journalists.
Verena Albert studied communication science at the University of Münster. During her studies, she worked as a student assistant at the Institute for Communication Science, assisting with curriculum planning, data collection and data analysis.
