Lisa Merten, M. A.

Since July 2015 Lisa Merten, M.A. is a junior researcher at the Leibniz Institute for Media Research | Hans Bredow Institute (HBI) in research program 1 "Transformation of Public Communication - Journalistic and Intermediary Functions in the Process of Opinion Formation".

Her research interests are focused on media use in digital media environments, especially effects of information-oriented media use, personalization processes in algorithm-driven public spheres, and the development of digital methods. In her cumulative dissertation project, she conducts research on practices of news use in the context of social media.

Lisa studied communication at the University of Leipzig, the TU Dresden, the Universiteit van Amsterdam and the Boston University and worked in market and media research.
